March 7, 1984
Dear FRIENDS,
On behalf of the Beethoven Foundation Friends, 1 have the privilege of inviting you
personally to the Wednesday, March 28th Friends' meeting. The March meeting will
be the most important meeting of 1984 and 1985 because the Friends will inaugurate
the 1985 Beethoven Foundation Fellowship Auditions.
Much planning and organization has already been accomplished by the Beethoven
Foundation advisory board committees and staff. The stage is set for support
participation by the Friends. The exciting task of developing a national piano
audition which exemplifies Hoosier hospitality and professionalism is challenging.
Young Americans will receive the largest piano fellowships in America, and will be
judged to be among the nation's best.
The roles the Beethoven Foundation Friends, or any volunteer plays, is an integral
part in the 1985 Auditions. The opportunity to interact with other Indianapolis, State
of Indiana, and national foundation Friends on a project which has a commitment to
American musical youth is truly a challenge but is a rewarding experience.
Please join me and the Foundation Friends on Wednesday, March 28, 5:30 p.m., at
the Marott Apartments located at 2625 North Meridian. I would like to give a
general plan for the 1985 Beethoven Foundation Piano Fellowship Auditions. You will
also have an opportunity to ask questions concerning committee responsibilities and
meet with a representative. Soft drinks, coffee, and a sandwich bar will be
available—dutch treat.
If you plan to attend the meeting, please contact the Friends' office at 637-2664.
We will need your reservation by Monday, March 26th.
I am looking fo^wa^cj to seeing you March 28, 5:30 p.m., at the Marott.
Sincerely,
^James T. Cruz
