Dear Dr. Weisenbach:
Young Audiences of Indiana is hosting the 24th Annual National Young
Audiences Conference in Indianapolis on April 21-24,1994. Delegates from
32 Young Audiences chapters around the country will gather at the Westin
Hotel to focus on Collaborations: Catalyst for Change.
On Friday, April 22, we will open the sessions as a public day so that local kJMjlJM^ JM-Jr.
persons from education, the arts, and business may join with the delegates in CATALYST FOR CHANGE
an important dialogue on the issues of school reform, arts education, and
community involvement.
The keynote speaker for the day is Dr. Howard Gardner, distinguished
Professor of Education at Harvard University, Director of Project Zero and
well known author. His luncheon speech is titled "The Place of the Arts in the
Current School Reform Movement." Also speaking on that day will be Dr.
Suellen Reed, and Richard S. Gurin, CEO of Binney & Smith (maker of
Crayolas).
I believe that the speakers and agenda will be of interest to you, your
colleagues and students in education. Young Audiences invites you to
attend this conference, and I ask your help in distributing the enclosed
information about the conference to interested faculty and students on your
campus. I am enclosing registration forms for your convenience. You will
note that attendance is possible for either all or part of the conference.
I hope that you will join us in this important dialogue about key issues in
education. Please call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely yours,
