The Indianapolis Children’s Choir is built on the belief that all children have incredible potential—for artistry and many other achievements. Over the past 30 years, generations of young people in the ICC have attained lofty artistic and personal goals. ICC singers have shared the stage with premier musicians and artists ranging from the Moscow Chamber Orchestra to Celine Dion, performed at prestigious events such as Super Bowl XLVI and the Grand Prix of Indianapolis, and toured renowned venues across the United States and around the world, including the Sydney Opera House and the Kennedy Center.
Past and present singers say that the ICC represents a home with friends who are as close as family. That participating in the choir helped them gain confidence, teamwork, and self-discipline. That they had life-changing cultural experiences before the age of 18 that many people do not have in a lifetime. And, of course, that the ICC helped them pursue their passion for music.
The ICC has become an integral part of the cultural fabric of Indianapolis and central Indiana—valued by singers, families, and the many community members who are inspired by ICC performances.
In this collection, you can explore the fun and hard work—and the incredible musical achievements—shared by children in the ICC from its launch in 1986 until today.
